The Science of Providence

Nil Sine Numine is a very popular statement in Liceo, if my Latin serves me correctly, it's suppose to mean nothing without providence. what is providence? what is this guiding light everybody seems to think they follow? are we not capable of thinking for ourselves? I do not deny the existence of God however, he did not say 'leave it all to me', the Lord placed man as steward of His creation not a useless bag of bones with skin, we are suppose to look out for one another not just stay put and watch the beatiful creation destroyed by those who were placed to protect it. where is this providence now? there is suppose to be some study, some science of it, is that not right? well, all sciences now seek to prove than to improve, the science that has been handed down from generation to generation, from aristotle to pasteur to the current practicioners need not stay and breathe and enjoy. they are gifted with the potential to go further than the common man, the potential is burning deep within, a fervent desire to improve what has been discovered for the purpose of continuing human existence. but then again, wise men have said it time and again this eternal message which does not seem to sink in thought...potential that remains untapped remain potential
